Spring Maternity Photography Session with Kristin & David

Kristin and David are huge members of the #slotownfamily. After being hired for their wedding back in 2018, we had the opportunity to shoot Kristin’s wedding boudoir, their beautiful hollywood styled wedding and now this beautiful maternity session! The most amazing part? They traveled here from there new home in Texas! Y’all can’t believe how honored I was.

So how should you plan for your spring maternity session?! Well three things to consider…. The obvious one, when you get pregnant! And for that I can’t help but I can help you with the other two. “Where to shoot?” and “What to wear?”.

On the Central Coast of California there is a plethora of places to choose from for your maternity session. For the month of spring there are many places! Green hills, blue skies, wildflowers, grown trees and of course the beach. Because beach photography is one of the best photography locations the Central Coast offers! This beautiful shoot took place at a beautiful park with greenery for days and of course that fun beach I keep messaging.

Now, what to wear? For maternity sessions there are plenty of options. My favorites? Beautiful maternity dresses that flow in the wind are the go to! That being said, it doesn’t mean that you can’t work the jeans and a beautiful blouse. Those who know me, know I avoid dresses like the plague. Which is why some dark jeans and a beautiful spring blouse is perfect. For this session Kristin rocked a color I almost never suggest. RED. The red glowed, the flowy dress accentuated her baby bump and red is a complimentary color to all the green that surrounded her. The result was perfect!
