Working at Tar Creek Ranch is truly a joy for me as a photographer. There’s something incredibly special about this space — the open land, the peaceful energy, and the way the light settles over the rolling hills. When spring arrives, Tar Creek absolutely comes to life, and this year’s Spring Mini Sessions were nothing short of magical. With the season officially in full bloom, there couldn’t have been a better way to celebrate than spending golden afternoons surrounded by families, laughter, and sunshine.

As a Tar Creek Preferred Photographer, these spring minis are some of my favorite sessions to offer each year. They’re intentionally short and sweet, making them perfect for families with little ones, couples looking for updated photos, or anyone wanting beautiful images without a long time commitment. Even in a brief session, there’s so much room for genuine connection — and those candid, in-between moments are always my favorite to capture.

This year’s sessions were filled with so much joy. From little ones twirling freely in the grass to parents soaking in quiet moments with their kids, every family brought their own unique energy. I loved watching couples sneak in kisses, siblings giggle together, and families stroll hand-in-hand through the fields. These are the moments that truly define spring on the Central Coast — relaxed, heartfelt, and full of life.

Tar Creek Ranch provided the most stunning backdrop once again. The iconic oak trees, vibrant green hills, and wildflowers dancing in the breeze created a naturally beautiful setting that needed very little enhancement. Add in the soft spring sunlight, and every frame felt warm, timeless, and full of glow. It’s always such an honor to photograph returning families year after year, and just as special to meet new faces and begin capturing their stories.

To all the incredible families who joined me for Spring Minis this year — thank you. Thank you for your trust, your laughter, and for letting me freeze these fleeting moments in time. I can’t wait for you to see these images printed, framed, and loved in your homes for years to come.
